It´s already Friday again, time for some blog hopping!
This week´s featured blogger is:
Candace!
I've had my blog for awhile, maybe a couple years? But once I had my son I kind of just stopped for a year. Once he turned one I started again and I haven't looked back! I love it! And it seems like I've made it my job. I may not get paid, but it's as important to me as going to work!
I'm a mother of two children, 5 and 18 months, and I work part time out of the home as a home health caregiver for the elderly. I spend my time reading, blogging (duh!) and I love to travel and explore. I live near Portland Oregon and Powells bookstore is my favorite place to go. I try to go to at least one book signing a month and I love to garden (though you can't tell by my yard right now). My favorite series is Kushiel's Legacy trilogies by Jacqueline Carey but lately have been really into YA. I review A LOT of YA, but also paranormal, urban fantasy and some historical fiction. I occasionally have another genre thrown in there as well. I'm pretty eclectic and love a lot of different genre's.
To join the fun and make now book blogger friends, just follow these simple rules:

Here´s what was going on on Reading on the Dark Side this week:
I reviewed “Mockingjay”, shared some juicy teaser from “Warrior” ended my first Giveaway and announced the winners (congrats again, Melissa, Sharli and Jeanette!), talked a little about me and my sister and about my reading preferences but, above all, started my special event for September!
Another blog hop is hosted by Crazy for Books.
RULES: (in hopes of simplifying things for everyone!)
1. Enter your book blog link in the Linky List below (be sure to include how long you've been blogging and what genres you review!). If you post about the Hop on your blog, please link directly to your Hop post (don't forget to answer this week's question - see below!).
2. Visit other blogs in the Linky List! Make new friends! Follow new book bloggers! Talk about books! Rave about authors! (Please do not leave your link and not visit other blogs - it's just not cool and not in the spirit of the Hop!)
3. Post about the Hop on your blog! Spread the word about the book party! The more the merrier!
4. In your blog post, answer the following question (new question each week!):
Do you judge a book by its cover?
Usually no. I have to admit that the covers of my favorite books ar sometimes among those I like least. There are however cases where the cover is so beautiful and amazing that it is enough to make me buy the book. An example for that is Halo. I pretty much instantly fell in love with this one. Yesterdays, it arrived and I still love it and, what´s more, the story sounds very interesting as well.
So I admit, I do judge a book by it´s cover from time to time, but mostly it´s the story and the characters that make a great book for me.
Have a great weekend, enjoy whatever book you´re reading and happy hopping!
xoxo,
Christine

Hi :) I like the cover of Halo as well. If I knew nothing about it, the cover would entice me enough to pick it up. Hope you continue to enjoy it !!

I agree - book blogging is like a part-time (sometimes full-time) job. We may not get paid, but we put our hearts and souls into it. Not to mention A LOT of time.
Glad to have found you via the Hop!
