I´m back (again) and thank you!!!

Hello again!

FINALLY, the move is complete. We´ve put our things in about 100 boxes (which took us three days), had them driven to Munich, our new home during one of the worst snow periods since the last 25 years or so (they closed the highway for trucks the next days, so we were incredibly lucky) and carried all 100 boxes to the 4th floor of our new apartment. Here´s the promised picture of a small part of the boxes (the guy you can see in the background is my sister´s boyfriend!).

Puh. It was one of the rare moments when I really really regretted having so many books. But I´m totally over that now and ready to be given more for Christmas! :) I also found out that being without internet for more than one days is very very hard for me.

Anyways, now everything is (almost) done and I´m finally home to celebrate Christmas with my family. Now I can enjoy the snow and not worry about how it can mess up my day. The picture below was taken this very morning. Aren´t the colors gorgeous? There was no photoshop involved in this picture!

I spent the whole day today online to catch up with everything I´ve missed. Tomorrow I´ll probably spend writing reviews and posts and yes, there is also still one lucky person out there waiting to hear that she (most likely) has won a copy of “Last Sacrifice”.

But before I go back to reading today, I have to say a huge thank you. It has come to my attention that my blog has been nominated for “Best New Blog 2010” at the Reader´s Choice Awards over at Mindful Musings.

I am cannot even begin to tell you how amazed and thankful I am by that and how much that means to me. You are definitely the best readers a blogger can wish for!!!

Randomness on Sunday/ This week on Reading on the Dark Side

I know I´ve said it before, but once again thank you so much to all of you for stopping by, commenting and following me! I always love to hear from you!


Also, monday is goin to be a great day for me and my blog: as I´ve hinted last week, Carrie Vaughn, author of the Kitty Norville series, "Discord´s Apple" and "Voices of the Dragon" has answered some of my questions. So on Monday, I´ll be posting my very first interview! *so excited*

I´m currently reading "Tempest Rising" by Nicole Peeler and so far, I´m really enjoying it. It was kind of a slow reading weekend, but I´m hoping to post my review on Tuesday.




I´ve recieved an awesome bunch of books on Friday and I still can´t decide which one to read next. At least I´ve narrowed it down to three books: "Blood Song" by Cat Adams, "Fallen" by Lauren Kate and "Pray for Dawn" by Jocelynn Drake.
Can you help me out? Which one should I read?

That´s it for today! I´m going back outside to enjoy the summer which has finally come to Germany as well!

Randomness on Saturday

Yesterday, I took part in my very first Blog Hop and I had so much fun! Again, thanks for all your comments on my page!

Also, I received the very first books I ever won in a contest online, "Spider´s Bite"
and "Magic Bites" (Thank you again Shiloh Walker!), both being the first books in am awesome series. I already own both, so I´m thinking about having my first giveaway next week to share them with you guys.

Unfortunatly, Germay´s performance in the soccer World Cup was quite disapponting yesterday. I´m not a big sports fan, but events like the World Cup are very fun to watch. What about you, do you support your country? Do you own one of the annoying Vuvuzelas? :)

And finally, something I´m exciting about: my sister has finally started to read Urban Fantasy. We had a deal: I choose a book for her and she gets to make a guest post. I have honestly no idea about what she´ll blog (she is actually a doctor, I hope it won´t be too bloody :)), so it´s gonna be a big surprise.

I´ve also planned a review for "Three Days to Dead" by Kelly Meding early this coming week. I´ve just started reading it and so far, it´s very promising!

Today, she asks the following question:

Who in your family (both immediate & extended) are readers, and who are not?

I guess sadly, I´m the only obsessed reader in my family. But there´s my sister. She´s four years older that me and we live together with her boyfriend in the same apartment. Even though we´re very much alike, our reading habits tend to differ. She prefers to read German chick lit, but, due to my superior persuasion skills, she has finally started reading a little bit of Urban Fantasy (Georgina Kincaid Series by Michelle Read, right now Friday Night Bites by Chloe Neill). So far, she likes it, but she doesn´t seem as enthusiastic as myself. Other books like the Kate Daniels series "sound too violent" for her. Hmm.
My boyfriend never reads. Period. (And no, I don´t count reading textbooks four his classes at university as reading.)
My mother likes to read from time to time, but she prefers thrillers and other random bestsellers. She prefers to go to the library, because she rather spands her money on different things. Lucky me that she doesn´t know how much I spend on books. :)
My father is more of a newspaper reader. I don´t know why he doesn´t read books, but I guess it could be blamed on lack of time.
I find it very sad that I don´t have anyone in my family with whom I can talk about the books I like. I guess that´s one of the reasons I´ve started this blog.
